Polish fullback Nicola Zalewski discussed his uncertain future in the Italian capital.

In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Zalewski discussed his recent performances for Poland in the Euros and what the future may hold for him at Roma.

“With Poland I’m back in the position Mourinho placed me in, so I know how to play there,” he said of his new role in Michal Probierz’s 3-5-2 system.

“I didn’t say this is my preferred position,” said Zalewski. “Since I was also asked by my Polish colleagues, I responded by explaining the difference compared to Roma. Since De Rossi arrived I have gone back to playing higher up the pitch.”

“I play where needed. This is my job,” he added.

“De Rossi’s renewal? The announcement arrived now, but we all already knew that Roma’s future would be with him. We are happy about it, now we hope to have a great season.”

“My future? We’ll talk about it with Roma. Things are always done in twos. Everything needs to be clarified. There are many dynamics within a transfer, a transfer or even the decision to stay.”

“We need to hear what Roma says, what they think. We need to understand whether to continue or go our separate ways.”
