Nicola Zalewski’s agency defends him: “The freedom of a footballer in his career choices is unquestionable.”
GP Soccer and Management S.r.l., the agency representing Nicola Zalewski, has issued an official statement regarding the situation of the young Polish winger.
The statement was released in the aftermath of the player being temporarily excluded from Roma’s squad.
The note – delivered to ANSA – underlines the importance of freedom of choice for the footballer.
Below is the letter, in which the agency reiterated its support for the player, inviting respect for the personal and professional dynamics that guide these choices.
“Regarding the sporting destiny of Nicola Zalewski, in the newspapers and on sports sites in recent days we have read imaginative reconstructions that do not represent the truth.
“Compared to the initial openness that Zalewski had given to the Galatasaray solution, the player subsequently decided to decline the Turkish club’s offer, remaining firm on his decision despite continuous flattery. The footballer, therefore, still today expresses the utmost gratitude for the interest shown and the efforts made up to the last moments by Galatasaray.
In any case, the freedom of a footballer to define or not every negotiation relating to his professional activity is considered absolutely unquestionable, without conditions or, much less, constraints (even those with his own club for a possible renewal).
While considering it correct to leave all the assessments on the ways and times that governed this negotiation to the media, it is also not possible to silently accept imaginative reconstructions.
With strength and serenity we invite those who intend to provide information with full truth to collect all the elements of a story before telling it, avoiding useless speculation to the detriment of the footballer.”
