Nico Paz gets first Argentina call with Dybala, Lautaro Martinez and more
Como starlet Nico Paz receives his first call-up for Argentina, one of five Serie A players including Paulo Dybala and Lautaro Martinez.
Coach Lionel Scaloni named his group for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela on October 10 and Bolivia on October 15.
The big change is the inclusion of Nico Paz, who moved from Real Madrid to Como over the summer for €6m plus 50 per cent of the sell-on fee.
Real Madrid also retained a buy-back clause on the creative midfielder, who only turned 20 last month.
Born in Tenerife, he always played his international football for Argentina with eight caps at Under-20 level and four for the Under-23 side.
Nico Paz had a great start to life in Serie A under coach Cesc Fabregas, providing three assists in five games.
Dybala returns to the squad after injury problems and the possible departure from Roma for Saudi Arabia in the summer.
His Giallorossi teammate Leandro Paredes and Juventus winger Nico Gonzalez are also involved.
Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is never far from the Seleccion, having been top scorer in the victorious Copa America.
