Nico Gonzalez: Scoring as a bianconeri was a dream
Nico Gonzalez introduced himself to the press at the Allianz Stadium on 19 September.
In reality, he had already shown up two days earlier, big time. He triumphed in his Champions League debut in the Juventus jersey by making a great play on Weston McKennie's goal and then scoring a goal himself in the second half.
"I am very happy ," he said. "It was a dream for me to score in this jersey. I am part of a wonderful group. They have made me feel part of the team from day one, I am very happy.
Thiago Motta inspires responsibility, gives freedom
"Thiago is an incredible person. He asks us to be free on the pitch, but above all to take responsibility for every play. This is how we get results," he explained. “Playing good football, with the ball on the ground, being a united group - this is what will bring us success. We work every day to improve, and so do I, no matter if I am playing on the right, left or as a forward. The goal is to help the team. I'd like to score a lot of goals, but the important thing is to be useful, maybe serving nice assists to Dušan Vlahovic. We are a good group, we are tight-knit, and there are plenty of champions on the squad.”
Team focus: match by match
"We are Juventus, we have to think match by match. We have to train well while looking after all aspects of our game, from nutrition to rest. There are so many games. That is fine for us as players. We want to play as much as possible."
