Reporter stiff-arms rowdy Golden Knights fan on air: 'Get the hell out of my face'

Samantha Rivera of CBS Miami is "excited to get back to some classy Panthers fans for Game 3."

A Florida reporter had to use some football physicality while broadcasting at the Stanley Cup Final in Las Vegas on Monday.

During Game 2 of the series between the Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights, CBS News Miami reporter Samantha Rivera was doing a normal post-game hit on the news broadcast when a Vegas fan attempted to interrupt her and get his face on camera. Attempted is the key word here.

Rivera did not take this effort to rudely disrupt her job lightly and gave the fan a strong stiff-arm to keep him at bay and his face off-screen. She impressively didn't miss a beat after fending him off and queued up the game highlights.

“Listen, I don’t give a damn what team you’re rooting for - get the hell out of my face when I’m working and respect that I’m here to do my job,” Rivera said on Twitter after the game. “Excited to get back home to some classy Panthers fans for Game 3!“

The fan was certainly amped up — not to excuse their behaviour — since his team just wiped the floor with the Panthers by a score of 7-2 to take a 2-0 lead in the Final series and move to within two victories of lifting the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history. Jonathan Marchessault led the charge with two goals and three points and only two Vegas forwards finished the game without earning a point.

This full-team effort from the Golden Knights has put the Panthers on their heels after they managed to string off a series of impressive upsets by taking down the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes in the first three rounds.

Florida and Vegas will have an extra day of rest before the series resumes Thursday for Game 3.
