NHL releases Florida Panthers Quarter-Century Team

The NHL has released their selections for the Florida Panthers Quarter-Century Team.

This is part of the league’s celebrating the past 25 years of NHL hockey.

They are doing this for each of the league’s 32 franchises, as well as the Arizona Coyotes.

The Panthers quarter-century teams were voted on by a panel of South Florida media, retired players and executives.

Florida’s selections were announced during the pregame show on Scripps Sports prior to Florida’s 3-2 shootout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night.

Here are the first and second team picks for the Panthers:

FIRST TEAM

Forwards: Sasha Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau, Matthew Tkachuk

Defensemen: Aaron Ekblad, Gus Forsling

Goalie: Roberto Luongo

SECOND TEAM

Forwards: Pavel Bure, Olli Jokinen, Sam Reinhart

Defensemen: Jay Bouwmeester, Robert Svehla

Goalie: Sergei Bobrovsky
