Dec 1 (The Sports Xchange) - Los Angeles Kings defenseman Matt Greene is scheduled to undergo shoulder surgery on Thursday that will keep him off the ice indefinitely, the team announced. Greene, 32, has played in just three games earlier this season after initially injuring the shoulder during the preseason. He is scoreless and has eight penalty minutes. - - A strained oblique will sideline New York Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein for possibly two to three weeks. Klein was injured Monday night after playing just over two minutes in the Rangers' 4-3 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. - - The Toronto Maple Leafs placed forward Joffrey Lupul on injured reserve retroactive to Nov. 28 with a lower body injury and recalled forward Rich Clune from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League on Tuesday. Lupul will be out for a minimum of seven days. He has eight goals and three assists this season. - - The San Jose Sharks recalled defenseman Karl Stollery from the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League on Tuesday. The 28-year-old Stollery has one goal and two assists in 17 games this season with the Barracuda. - - The Anaheim Ducks reassigned defenseman Shea Theodore to the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League.
