Feb 7 (The Sports Xchange) - Boston Bruins goaltender prospect Malcolm Subban has a fractured larynx, the club announced on Sunday. A puck struck Subban in the throat during warmups prior to Saturday's AHL game between the Providence Bruins and Portland Pirates. He stayed overnight in a Maine hospital and was transported to a Massachusetts hospital on Sunday for further evaluation. "He is in stable condition and will be sidelined indefinitely," the Bruins said in a statement. - - - The Arizona Coyotes assigned forward Steve Downie to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. Downie, 28, has collected six points (three goals, three assists) in 26 games with the Coyotes this season.
