Joonas Korpisalo steals Sasha Barkov's soul with absurd stick save
One of the best goalscorers in the world was no match for a flying piece of lumber on Tuesday.
Caught slightly out of position on an odd-man rush featuring Florida's top scorers, and wielding only that aforementioned chunk of wood and a prayer, Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo submitted his bid for "save of the year" with a ridiculous stop on Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov, who is generally quite adept at putting pucks in the back of nets — especially wide open ones.

Even after soaking in the gorgeous slow-motion, close-up replay, it's nearly impossible to fathom how this didn't go in.

Korpisalo had himself a heck of a night, stopping 29-of-32 biscuits, including several 10-bell stops.
Unfortunately for the CBJ netminder, the world of goaltending is a cruel one, and his counterpart Sergei Bobrovsky was stellar with a 38-save effort of his own to help the surging Panthers sneak out another win.
This save is all that matters to me right now, though. I'll be here for a bit.
