NHL jersey ads: What patch each team is wearing
Jersey advertisements are coming to the NHL for the 2022-23 season, with a number of franchises already announcing their sponsors and revealing their new patches.
Hockey purists have voiced their displeasure with the new source of revenue, with the Montreal Canadiens' Royal Bank of Canada logo drawing notable outrage.
While a good number of fans find the patches to be invasive, the addition of jersey ads figures to be an extremely lucrative venture for the NHL. Some experts have estimated it could lead to over $100 million in new revenue for the league, and could help offset some of the financial difficulties that have led to a flat salary cap in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The going rate for a jersey ad deal is reportedly between $5-$10 million per year.
Here are all the teams that have confirmed their jersey sponsorship plans for the 2022-23 campaign and beyond.
