NHL Insider Claims Blackhawks Gave Taylor Hall A Legitimate Contract Offer
The Chicago Blackhawks were part of a blockbuster last week. They played a small role in it but they helped facilitate a trade that involved a superstar going from one contender to another. The Mikko Rantanen, Marty Necas, Jack Drury, and Taylor Hall trade will be talked about for a long time.
Before the Blackhawks moved on from Hall, he told the media that he wanted to stay but he knew it wasn’t likely to happen based on what the team told him.
On this week’s episode of “32 Thoughts: The Podcast”, top NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman had a contradicting report. He claimed that he believed that the Blackhawks had a legitimate offer to keep Hall around but he was ready to move onto a contender.
Nobody would blame Hall for feeling that way as there is a lot of losing going on in Chicago but the two stories don’t line up. It doesn’t matter now though, he is already off and running in Carolina.
Hall collected his first point (an assist on an Andrei Svechnikov goal) as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes in Tuesday night’s win over the New York Rangers. Hopefully, despite the truth, Hall will succeed with his new team because he was a great leader during his short time in Chicago.
The Chicago Blackhawks will face off against Taylor Hall and the Hurricanes on Thursday night in Raleigh. You can bet that he will be motivated to have a big game against his old team.
