Goalies
Cam Talbot, DET vs. CHI (36% rostered)
Arvid Soderblom, CHI at DET (5% rostered)
This is an easy setup for Talbot, who will go for his third straight win while Alex Lyon recuperates from injury. The Blackhawks are coming off an impressive 3-1 win against the Avs but note they've won consecutive games during just two stretches (Nov. 2-3, Dec. 15-19) this season. With a back-to-back Friday and Saturday, Soderblom will split the starts with Mrazek; the latter is the better streaming option, but neither are appetizing. For a win, saves and a good save percentage, Talbot is the best option in this matchup.
Yaroslav Askarov, SJ at UTA (19% rostered)
Askarov likely gets the started with a Friday-Saturday back-to-back. Utah has been really struggling lately with seven losses in their past eight games, and offense has been a big problem with just 2.25 goals per game. Askarov, meanwhile, has been excellent with a .923 SP even though he's only won three games in seven starts. I think Askarov's odds of winning this game are good if the Sharks can score at least three goals, with a very good chance of posting a high number of saves with a good save percentage.
Charlie Lindgren, WSH vs. MTL (38% rostered)
This is a good chance for Lindgren to get back in the win column, who's lost four straight and hasn't won since Dec. 20 against the Canes. Lindgren has struggled at times this season, but the Caps are still a top-tier team and hold a distinct advantage even though the Habs are 8-2-0 in their past 10.
Lindgren owns a career 3-1-0 record with a .888 SP and 2.80 GAA against his former team, and the Caps have won three straight and also 8-2-1 in their past 11 meetings against the Habs. If you're looking for a win, I like Lindgren's chances even against the red-hot Habs, but don't hold your breath for a good save percentage or GAA given how Lindgren has performed overall this season.
Dustin Tokarski, CAR vs. VAN (3% rostered)
The Canes are playing the second half of a back-to-back, their fifth game in seven nights (!) and it's Tokarski's fifth start of the season. Tokarski's record (3-1-0) has been good, but note he's been a journeyman for much of his career for good reason, and his .894 SP shows that he's been the beneficiary of a team that's allowing the second-fewest shots per game (25.2).
Elias Pettersson was a game-time decision Wednesday in D.C. but did not play, so there's a chance he returns to the lineup. This is a tougher matchup than it looks on paper for the Canes even though they're favored, according to FanDuel's odds, with the Canucks owning a strong road record (11-4-4) and keep in mind the Canes have a .500 P% since Dec. 1, 22nd in the league, and slightly worse than the Canucks' .528. Tokarski's odds of winning aren't high considering the Canes' recent schedule and his limited ability, and it's even less likely he'll offer a high number of saves or a good save percentage.
