NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Defenseman Pickups January 29 - Spence Scoring From Backline for LA

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Jordan Spence, LA @ FLA (2% rostered)

I am more than a little surprised that Spence's rostered percentage remains so low. While Drew Doughty is close to returning, that has not yet happened, while Spence remains hot. Spence has a goal and three assists his last five contests and is up to three markers and 14 apples in 46 contests on the season. Despite the impending return of Doughty and presence of Brandt Clarke, it would be a little shocking if Spence is unable to match or exceed the five goals and 17 assists he posted last season.

Michael Kessering, UTAH vs. PIT (14% rostered)

Kesselring's scoring pace has slowed a little lately, with just a point his last four contests. but go back just four more games, and the numbers look a lot better, as he tallied a goal and a pair of helpers in that stretch. Kesselring has been seeing top power play unit duty with Mikhail Sergachev sidelined. Sergachev is a game-time decision Wednesday, if he plays, Kesselring will slide back to his usual second unit deployment.
