NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Forwards Pickups Jan. 28 - Terry, Geekie Should Get Looks

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Connor McMichael, C/LW, WSH at CGY (42% rostered)
Pierre-Luc Dubois, C/LW, WSH at CGY (40% rostered)

McMichael went through a very long quiet stretch through December and he's yet to score a goal since Jan. 4, but over the past four games he's managed to rack up four assists. He's currently playing L2 and PP2 with Dubois.

Dubois is generally the safer and better play in multi-category leagues. He wins draws and provides the occasional hit and block, but most importantly is scoring at the top end of his range at a 65-point pace.

Jonathan Drouin, LW/RW, COL at NYI (30% rostered)

The acquisition of Martin Necas hurts Drouin a little bit because Necas isn't nearly on the same level as Mikko Rantanen. However, Drouin's ice time is unlikely to decline, and he has plenty of value in points leagues playing alongside Nathan MacKinnon. He's scored a goal and six assists in his past six games.

Troy Terry, C/RW, ANA at SEA (25% rostered)

Potentially a really good matchup here with the Kraken likely to start Philipp Grubauer, who has really struggled this season with a .870 SP and five wins in 20 starts. Terry, meanwhile, is on a three-game assist streak with the Ducks coming off two days' rest and having scored five goals in each of their past two games.

Morgan Geekie, C/LW/RW, BOS at BUF (15% rostered)

Geekie's been excellent since joining the Bruins' top line, and he has a chance to extend his goals streak to four games. Nearly half (6) of his total goals (15) have been scored over the past two weeks. The Sabres are generally not a good defensive team, allowing the eighth-most shots per game and the fourth-most goals per game in the league.

Honorable mention:

Ivan Barbashev, C/LW, VGK vs. DAL (43% rostered)
Pavel Dorofeyev, LW/RW, VGK vs. DAL (42% rostered)
Jonathan Huberdeau, C/LW, CGY vs. WSH (42% rostered)
Casey Mittlestadt, C, COL at NYI (11% rostered)
