Forwards
Jack McBain, LW, UTAH @ TOR (3% rostered)
Remember Utah's hot start? Well, it's now a faded memory, but McBain has been somewhat warm of late. Granted, he is persona non grata in many circles due to his collision with Alex Ovechkin that has Ovi sidelined likely 4-6 weeks, but that is only part of the story, McBain has three goals and two assists over his last nine contests, while adding to his value with the 24 hits he has dished out over that stretch. With only one game on the docket, McBain is worth a look.
Fraser Minten, C, TOR vs. UTAH (2% rostered)
Toronto is dealing with several injuries up front, opening the door for others to step forward. Minten, a 2022 second-round pick, took advantage of said chance, notching the game-winning goal, the first of his NHL career, on Wednesday. He missed the beginning of the campaign with an ankle injury, but in five games for AHL Toronto after getting healthy Minten recorded two goals and four points. Due to the Maple Leafs absences, Minten is centering the team's third line, giving him short-term value.
Goalies
Jaxson Stauber, UTAH @ TOR (1% rostered)
If you are really feeling lucky and taking a risk, go with Stauber. With Connor Ingram on IR, Karel Vejmelka is the Hockey Club's primary netminder, supported by Stauber. He played six games for Chicago in 2022-23, winning five, but spent all of last season with Rockford in the AHL and signed with Utah this past offseason. Stauber posted a 2.29 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage in seven AHL outings in 2024-25 and would be making his NHL debut this season if he is between the pipes today.
