NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Forwards Pickups Dec. 20 - Cooley Stays Hot

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Patrick Kane, RW, DET vs. MTL (46% rostered)

Kane's on pace for a 40-point season and he's become very much an afterthought in fantasy. But, once in a while, the future Hall of Famer provides an offensive spark, as he did against the Flyers on Wednesday with two points. The Red Wings are gaining some momentum with three wins in their past four.

Logan Cooley, C, UTA at MIN (44% rostered)

Cooley has scored two assists in each of his past three games and he's really cemented himself as Utah's top playmaking pivot. He isn't a goal scorer but he's flanked by good shooters, and he has plenty of value in a streaming matchup against the Wild's backup goalies - Filip Gustavsson is injured - and for the rest of the season.

Ross Colton, C/LW, COL at SJ (40% rostered)

Fatigue shouldn't really be a factor for the Avs playing their second game in two nights with very little travel and an opponent they should be able to beat quite handily. Colton remains on L2 at even strength but has joined PP1 for added value.

Anton Lundell, C/RW, FLA vs. STL (33% rostered)

Lundell provides offense in spurts when he's not the focal point, as he was at the beginning of the season, and he's heating up with three points in his past two games. He's been shooting the puck slightly more and remains a good option for deep multi-category leagues for faceoff wins and hits.

Marco Rossi, C, MIN vs. UTA (32% rostered)

If the Wild are going to allow six goals a game - as they did Wednesday against the Panthers - they'll need their offense to step up. Rossi remains their top option and he's scored two goals in his past three games while playing over 20 minutes in four of his past five games. The usage is good and the production is there. Rossi should be one of the safer streaming options for Friday's slate.

JJ Peterka, LW/RW, BUF vs. TOR (27% rostered)

Peterka has four assists in his past four games and with each loss - that's 11 straight now for the Sabres - more and more pressure mounts. I think Peterka's potentially a good streaming option due to his production and also because the Sabres and Leafs tend to have some hard-fought matches. I wouldn't be surprised if this game is close, though the Leafs have the clear advantage.

Pierre-Luc Dubois, C/LW, WSH vs. CAR (26% rostered)

Yes, the Canes defend very well, but they still allow their fair share of goals because their goaltending isn't always great. Dubois has quietly scored six points in his past six games, including two goals. He's a low-upside option but he's been very consistent lately.
