Goalies
Tristan Jarry, PIT vs. OTT (23% rostered)
The Penguins snapped their four-game losing streak even though they were outplayed by the Oilers, and Jarry has a chance to snap a personal three-game losing streak against the struggling Sens, who are 1-5-1 in their past seven. I like this matchup for the Pens, and the Sens may start third-string Leevi Merilainen. I like Jarry's chances of winning and he should be able to offer a decent save percentage.
Yaroslav Askarov, SJ vs. MIN (21% rostered)
The concern with this matchup isn't about Askarov - it's about the Sharks offense. They will be playing their second game in two nights with travel, and goals hav ebeen really hard to come by; they've yet to score more than three goals since Dec. 12 heading into Friday's game against Utah. The upside, asides from Askarov's enormous potential, is the Wild are very banged up. They will likely be without Kirill Kaprizov, and their defense is especially vulnerable without captain Jared Spurgeon, and both Jonas Brodin and Brock Faber missed their previous game. I think Askarov will, at a minimum, offer a high number of saves and a good save percentage, with an outside chance of an upset.
John Gibson, ANA at PHI (19% rostered)
This is a personal matchup for two reasons: Gibson's a Pennsylvania native with a strong road record this season (4-1-0, .922 SP, 2.54 GAA) and an all-time record against the Flyers (5-2-2, .926 SP, 2.43 GAA), and this is also Cutter Gauthier's first game in Philadelphia since the trade. I think the crowd will be hostile, but Gibson's play and experience should override any jitters. My only concern is the Ducks won't be able to provide enough offense to earn the win. Flip a coin for the result, but I think Gibson will stop a lot of pucks and offer a good save percentage.
Connor Ingram, UTA vs. NYI (37% rostered)
Ingram should get the start and it'll be his first appearance since Nov. 18 against the Caps. It's been a trying season for Ingram and he might be rusty. The Isles offense isn't intimidating, but note they've won two straight with nine goals scored, and Utah's been struggling with seven losses in their past eight games, and recently lost reliable sniper Dylan Guenther to injury. There's too much uncertainty in this matchup for Ingram to be a reliable streaming option, even though Utah is the favorite according to FanDuel's odds.
