NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Forwards Pickups Jan. 21 - Michkov, Flyers Keep Rolling
On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Matvei Michkov, RW, PHI vs. DET (48% rostered)
Michkov's scoring pace slowed considerably last month but it's picking up again with four points in his past five games. The Red Wings were red hot but they've lost two in a row with nine goals allowed. Michkov's ice time yo-yo's - it's John Tortorella, after all - but I like the way his game has been trending.
Pierre-Luc Dubois, C/LW, WSH at EDM (35% rostered)
The Capitals have won four in a row with PLD going on a scoring binge with three points in his past three games. Since December, he's scored 20 points in 22 games, and without Connor McDavid, perhaps PLD won't be used strictly in a matchup role and allow him to create more chances on offense.
Anton Lundell, C/RW, FLA at ANA (32% rostered)
Lundell has a chance to extend his scoring streak to three games after scoring his 11th goal of the season in their previous game against the Ducks. His minutes remain limited because Sam Bennett plays ahead of him, but Lundell's been very consistent lately and fills multiple categories.
Jason Zucker, LW, BUF at VAN (27% rostered)
The Sabres are playing the second game of a back-to-back and Zucker's coming off his second two-point effort in three games. He's getting plenty of ice time and the Canucks defense will be shorthanded with Tyler Myers suspended. Zucker is playing L1 and PP1 with Tage Thompson.
