NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Player Pickups Nov. 17 - Lekkerimaki Gets Top Billing Again

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Forwards

Jordan Martinook, LW, CAR vs.STL (5% rostered)

Martinook, profiled earlier in the week. saw his four-game goal streak end Wednesday. Why then you might ask is he given top billing again? Martinook is still skating on the third line but occcasionally slides up a trio next to Jesperi Kotkaniemi and opposite Martin Necas. That placement affords Martinook an uptick in scoring chances, making him worth a look see on a light game night.

Jonathan Lekkerimaki, RW, VAN vs. NSH (7% rostered)

Lekkerimaki is skating on the Canucks' top line due to the absence of Brock Boeser (upper body). While Boeser is sidelined, Lekkerimaki should retain that role. Vancouver's top prospect, Lekkerimaki notched his first tally of the season Thursday in a loss to Chicago. His young legs should not be adversely affected by the back-to-back Saturday and Sunday for the Canucks, affording him a solid chance to dent the scoresheet again.

Nicolas Roy, C/RW, LV vs. WSH (18% rostered)

I am going back to the well again with Roy. He has a pair of goals and as many assists in his last four games, helping Vegas overcome the absence of Mark Stone. Roy can move up-and-down the lineup with ease, producing in any role he is given. He was a key member of the Cup winning teams two years ago and set a career-high with 41 points (13 goals, 28 assists) last season. Roll with him while Stone is out.

Matty Beniers, C, SEA vs. NYR (15% rostered)

The bloom is most certainly off the rose for the 2023 Calder Trophy winner. Beniers saw his production decline substantially last season, as he dropped from 57 to 37 points. He is still searching for consistency, but does have a pair of goals and an assist in his last four contests, so maybe he is rounding into form. His DFS price has likely declined substantially making him a possible bargain opportunity.

Defensemen

Rasmus Sandin, WSH @ LV (14% rostered)

Sandin has all three of his goals on the season plus an assist in his last four games, The 24-year-old picked up his game with Jakub Chychrun sidelined and has showed no signs of slowing despite the return of Chychrun, who has taken back his spot on the power play. Sandin is still seeing top-four minutes, which allows him to make an impact at even strength. For the season, the Swedish blueliner has nine points, 18 shots on net, 20 hits, 36 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating through 16 appearances.

Zac Jones, NYR @ SEA (0% rostered)

Tag this one under the category of hunch. The Rangers need blueliners who can escape the zone quickly with the puck. Jones is one of the few, along with Adam Fox, who does that consistently, New York will look to take advantage of the Kraken playing a back-to-back, which should afford Jones rush opportunities and a chance to score as a trailer.
