NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Forwards Pickups Jan. 9 - Fantilli Time

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Matthew Knies, LW, TOR at CAR (47% rostered)

Why not make it goals in four straight games? Ever since Auston Matthews returned, Knies has been one of fantasy's hottest players and he's now rostered in nearly half of all Yahoo leagues. The Canes are generally strong defensively but their 5-on-5 save percentage actually ranks 30th in the league, per naturalstattrick.com, and since Dec. 1 are just 8-8-1, ranking 22nd in points percentage.

Dylan Holloway, C/LW, STL vs. ANA (47% rostered)
Pavel Buchnevich, C/LW/RW, STL vs. ANA (45% rostered)

Holloway can extend his points streak to five games against the Ducks, though it might be a stiff test because Ducks are allowing the seventh-fewest goals per game on the road. Holloway is enjoying excellent chemistry with Brayden Schenn on both L2 and PP2 while averaging roughly 17 minutes per game. Holloway's also great in multi-category leagues for his shot volume and hits.

Buchnevich is playing similar minutes but he has slightly better usage on L1 and PP1. His offensive production has been disappointing this season but he, too, enters this contest with a four-game points streak.

Dmitri Voronkov, LW, CLB vs. SEA (43% rostered)
Adam Fantilli, C, CLB vs. SEA (10% rostered)

Voronkov has scored two goals in each of his past two games, and even if Joey Daccord returns to action for the Kraken, the Blue Jackets offense will be really hard to keep off the board.

With Sean Monahan injured, also look for Adam Fantilli to play a big role. He filled in as their top center after Monahan left the game and carries a three-game points streak into this matchup. Depending on Fantilli's performance, his usage and the length of Monahan's injury - it sounds like it could be serious - Fantilli could have sneaky ROS value.

Marco Rossi, C, MIN vs. COL (40% rostered)

Rossi did not hit the score sheet even though the Wild put up six goals against the Blues, but he remains a strong streaming option and a hold for the rest of the season. Rossi is centering L1 and PP1 with 37 points in 41 games this season.

Troy Terry, C/RW, ANA at STL (35% rostered)

Terry's status is questionable at this point after missing their previous game against Calgary for the birth of his child. Should Terry play, he'll have added 'dad strength' - it's a good sign that he's in for a big game. Prior to his absence, he had scored five goals and eight points in six games.

Jason Zucker, LW, BUF at OTT (33% rostered)
JJ Peterka, LW/RW, BUF at OTT (27% rostered)

Expected Sens starter Anton Forsberg has allowed seven goals in his past two games and they've lost five of their past six, which bodes well for the Sabres offense. They're still losing games but at least their offense has come alive. Zucker was held off the score sheet against the Caps but played 21:33 with two shots on goal. He's playing L1 and PP1 with Dylan Cozens and Tage Thompson.

Peterka has been disappointing for most of the season but he has four assists in his past three games and played 23:37 against the Caps.

Honorable mention:

Anders Lee, LW, NYI at VEG (45% rostered)
Bryan Rust, RW, PIT vs. EDM (44% rostered)
Kent Johnson, C/LW/RW, CLB vs. SEA (14% rostered)
