NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Forwards Pickups Dec. 19 - Sharks Attack

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Nazem Kadri, C, CGY vs. OTT (51% rostered)
Jonathan Huberdeau, C/LW, CGY vs. OTT (25% rostered)

Technically, Kadri's 'graduated' from this list because he's rostered in over half of Yahoo leagues, so this might be your last chance to roster Kadri. He's carrying a four-game goal streak into this game, and though Linus Ullmark is red-hot coming off a shutout, Kadri's scoring has really picked up and has plenty of ROS value.

Huberdeau's also been very good playing on Kadri's line, scoring 10 points in his past eight games. His upside is lower than Kadri's, but if you're looking for just points, both are good options.

Tyler Toffoli, LW/RW, SJ vs. COL (44% rostered)
Fabian Zetterlund, LW/RW, SJ vs. COL (37% rostered)
Nikolai Kovalenko, LW/RW, SJ vs. COL (1% rostered)

Toffoli has scored a goal in every other game since Dec. 3, which means he's not going to score a goal against the Avs. However, streaks are meant to be broken and overall Toffoli has been very productive lately, including a two-point effort against the Jets on Tuesday. He is expected to play on a line with Macklin Celebrini and Kovalenko, who has five assists in his past three games in a revenge game against his former team.

Zetterlund has also been very productive lately, scoring a goal in two straight games. It's worth noting again that even though the Avs made upgrades in net, they are still allowing plenty of scoring chances and shots on goal.

Kiefer Sherwood, LW/RW, VAN at VGK (42% rostered)

This will be the second in two nights for the Canucks on the road, but Sherwood has been very reliable in fantasy this season. He's the league leader in hits and averages two shots per game.

Ross Colton, C/LW, COL at SJ (41% rostered)

The Avs will likely face their former goalie and surely they know his weakest spots. Colton played 20:02 in Vancouver on Monday, the most since returning from injury. This tells me the Avs feel comfortable playing him a lot of minutes again, and remains on their top power play unit. He's scored two goals in his past five games.

Rickard Rakell, C/LW/RW, PIT at NSH (40% rostered)
Bryan Rust, RW, PIT at NSH (37% rostered)

Rakell's coming off a two-point game and Rust scored an assist against the stingy Kings on Tuesday, and surely the Preds will provide an easier matchup. Both wingers have been excellent in December, leading the team with nine points apiece. They have plenty of ROS value as the Pens seem to be turning it around and getting back into the thick of the playoff race.

Pavel Dorofeyev, LW/RW, VGK vs. VAN (14% rostered)

Dorofeyev is really boom-or-bust, but at times can be a fantastic streaming option. Though he's been a little cold lately with only one helper in seven games, but he continues to fire a lot of shots and the Canucks should be a tired bunch playing their second road game in as many nights. They will either start Kevin Lankinen, who's been ill, or third-string Arturs Silovs, who's struggled this season, with a very thin defense playing in front of them.

Shane Pinto, C, OTT at CGY (4% rostered)

Pinto was ice-cold all season but now has scored three goals in his past three games, accounting for 75 percent of his entire season total. He certainly has the hot hand right now and this is potentially a good matchup. The Flames have struggled to keep pucks out of their net lately, allowing at least three goals in five of their past six games.
