NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Player Pickups Jan. 1 - Stefan Noesen Shows No Signs of Slowing
On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Forwards
Stefan Noesen, LW/RW, NJ @ LA (49% rostered)
Noesen is on the edge of the 50% rostered threshold for no longer being eligible for this column. But since he is at 49%, we figured why not include him at least once more. Noesen has more than settled in nicely during his first season in New Jersey. His 16 goals are a new career-high, and barring a complete collapse, he will also set new highs in points, time on ice and hits.
Alex Laferriere, RW, LA vs. NJ (35% rostered)
Laferriere's production has slowed since his hot start to the season, though he has rebounded a bit in December. He posted six points, 26 shots on net and 19 hits over 11 contests giving the winger 26 points - a new career-high - in 36 games for the season. Laferriere has bounced between the top three lines but looks like he will spend most of his action on the second or third trio.
Defensemen
Jordan Spence, LA vs. NJ (1% rostered)
Spence closed 2024 on a little bit of a roll, notching five assists in his last six games. For the season, Spence is up to two goals and 10 helpers in 35 games while skating 17:19 a contest, almost three more minutes a game more than the prior season. Spence has secured a spot on the third D-pairing as well as on the point of the second power play unit.
