Goalies

Ivan Fedotov, PHI at NYI (4% rostered)
Marcus Hogberg, NYI vs. PHI (3% rostered)

The Flyers will be playing the second game of a back-to-back and the Islanders are slightly favored as per FanDuel's odds on NHL.com. The Isles' scoring and goaltending has improved, but generally speaking they're still a low-upside offensive team. They're 5-2-0 in their past seven, which includes a loss to the Flyers on Jan. 16. I'm not super confident in Fedotov - he's played sparingly and hasn't won since Nov. 29 - but I do think there's a good chance the Flyers can pull off an upset. They're rolling, too, going 5-1-1 heading into Friday's game.

Hogberg likely gets the start since the Isles will play again on Saturday against the Hurricanes. Hogberg hasn't faced a lot of shots in his past three games but he's also had a save percentage above .927 in every start this season. I think his strong play will likely continue and there's a chance this becomes a low-scoring game.

If you're looking for a win, I think Fedotov is worth a look, though it'll be tight. I can't say the same for his save percentage, though. On the flip side, I think Hogberg likely offers the better save percentage but perhaps not the win.

Connor Ingram, UTA at WPG (34% rostered)

Tough matchup for Ingram and Utah, who are playing the second game of a back-to-back. The Jets should come out firing; Scott Arniel ripped his team publicly following a 5-2 loss in Utah on Jan. 20, and they escaped with an overtime win against the Avs in their next game. Ingram has looked very good since returning from his absence with six goals allowed and a .926 SP in three games (2-1-0) but I am quite fearful of this Jets team.

I think Utah will be hard-pressed to win this game against a motivated Jets team, but I do think Ingram can at least offer a good save percentage and rack up the saves.

Petr Mrazek, CHI vs. TB (12% rostered)
Jonas Johansson, TB at CHI (3% rostered)

Maybe Mrazek gets this start and maybe the Blackhawks turn to Arvid Soderblom; either way, I can't see this being a good matchup for either goalie. Sure, the Blackhawks offense has improved, but it's also come at the cost of their defensive structure and goaltending. Unless you're interesting in getting a lot of saves, I'd avoid Mrazek. The Blackhawks have beaten the Lightning just twice in regulation in 23 games (!) since 2016.

The Lightning play back-to-back and it would make sense to alternate so Johansson gets this start while Andrei Vasilevskiy faces the Red Wings on Saturday. Johansson gets most of his wins primarily because the Lightning's offense is so good; otherwise, he's generally been a liability. With the Hawks' improved offense, I'm also less sure that we will see a strong performance from Johansson unless the Lightning maintain puck possession and keep opposition shots to a minimum. If Johansson starts, he'll be the most popular streaming option due to the lopsided matchup, but there are no promises he can offer a good save percentage.
