Goalies

Kevin Lankinen, VAN vs. PHI (9% rostered)

With the Canucks blowing a 4-1 lead against the Flames in their season opener, Lankinen may draw the start to give Arturs Silovs (20 saves, .769 SP) a bit of a breather.

Rick Tocchett expressed confidence in both goalies, and it would make sense to let both goalies see action early in the season. The series has been fairly evenly split over the past few seasons, but the Canucks should be extra motivated to come out with a better effort after a tough loss in their season opener.

If Lankinen plays well and wins, there's a chance the Canucks will roll with him. They have yet to really decide how their rotation will work going forward as there is still no timetable for Thatcher Demko's return.

Samuel Ersson, PHI at VAN (16% rostered)

Ersson was very good up until March when he lost steam. The sophomore netminder shouldered a heavy workload with 51 appearances last season and finished 10th in Calder voting.

He's eager to further prove himself in the NHL and the Flyers will be very well-rested in their season opener relative to the Canucks, who suffered a 6-5 overtime defeat on Wednesday. Ersson allowed just one goal and won his lone start against the Canucks last season in Vancouver, but faced just 19 shots. With the Canucks' improved offense and home-ice advantage, the Canucks are the favorite.
