Coaching and defense can take a team a long way. So can a bad division.

The 2020 Washington Football Team was offensively challenged. Alex Smith was a great comeback story but didn't play well. Yet, Washington still won the NFC East. It was one of the worst divisions in recent history, but a division title still isn't a bad way to end a season.

This season could be better in Washington, and WFT might not need a putrid division to get back to the playoffs.

WFT win total: 8.5

One of my favorite bets on the board at BetMGM is Washington over 8.5 wins. While Ryan Fitzpatrick has become a bit overrated because he's a fun player to root for, he's a major upgrade at quarterback.

Washington also has some very good offensive talent: receivers Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel, running back Antonio Gibson and tight end Logan Thomas. The offense only needs to be good. The defense led by end Chase Young should be great. That unit got Washington to the playoffs last season and it could be the best in football this season.

Super Bowl odds: +4000

Washington has some long Super Bowl odds, and while I like them to win more than 8.5 games and take the division, I don't think they have a championship upside. Their odds to win it all should be much lower by the end of December, but it's still hard to talk yourself into WFT winning it all.

Best prop bet: Win the NFC East +220

I'm not totally sold on the Cowboys defense or their coach, the Giants still have a way to go and the Eagles are a mess. I trust Washington more than any other team in the division (that sounds weird to say after decades of Washington dysfunction). The defense is phenomenal and the offense will be better.
