Eddie Howe has confirmed that Sven Botman is in his thoughts for this weekend after a 10-month absence.
The Dutch defender has been sidelined since March with an ACL injury. After featuring three times for the u-21 side in recent weeks, Botman is available for selection at Spurs. However, Howe is likely to resist the temptation to start the centre-back, despite Fabian Schar’s absence through suspension.
Schar is one of several defensive absentees for the Magpies alongside Jamaal Lascelles (knee), Nick Pope (knee), and Emil Krafth (shoulder). Kieran Trippier will be assessed after injuring his hamstring in the win at Manchester United.
