PREVIOUS MEETING

Our last trip to St James’ Park was a thrilling contest, with Oscar Bobb’s last-gasp winner securing a 3-2 victory for Pep Guardiola’s men.

Bernardo opened the scoring for City on 26 minutes, with a delicious backheel goal. The Magpies went in ahead at the break against the run of play after a quickfire double from Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon.

But Guardiola’s men came roaring back, with KDB producing a class right-foot finish on 74 minutes – just five minutes after coming on - to level matters.

The iconic and inspirational midfielder then played in Bobb in injury-time with the academy graduate showing experience beyond his years to finish expertly.

LAST TIME OUT

Our last league encounter was a pulsating 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium, with John Stones’ 98th minute goal earning us a vital point.

We were also in action in the Carabao Cup in midweek, securing a 2-1 third round victory over Watford, thanks to goals from Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes, where 16-year-old Kaden Braithwaite made his first-team debut featuring along with five other Academy graduates.

As for Newcastle, they were defeated 3-1 by Fulham at Craven Cottage last weekend in the Premier League, leaving them on ten points after five matches, three points behind City.
