Rangers sign Artemi Panarin to 7-year, $81.5 million deal
The New York Rangers have officially landed this year’s most coveted free agent in Artemi Panarin, announcing a seven year contract Monday worth $11.642M annually.
The unrestricted free agent led the Columbus Blue Jackets with 87 points in 79 regular season games last season, and added 11 points in the postseason.

It was reported Sunday that Columbus had made a late push to try and keep the winger, and early Monday that Panarin may have left money on the table to choose the Rangers over the neighbouring Islanders.
New York has had an impressive offseason rebuild so far, acquiring Jacob Trouba before free agency and selecting Kaapo Kakko second overall at last month’s draft. They still have around $8.7 million in cap space to shop with as of July 1st.
