Yahoo Sports Netherlands and De Ligt reach Euro 2024 semi-finals
FC Bayern defender Matthijs de Ligt and the Netherlands have reached the semi-finals of Euro 2024. The Dutch came from behind to beat Turkey 2-1 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Saturday evening. De Ligt did not feature.
Samet Akaydin gave the Turks the lead in the 35th minute in what was an extremely intense and hard-fought match. Stefan de Vrij equalised for the Dutch in the 70th minute. Just six minutes later, an own goal from Mert Müldür made it 2-1 in favour of Ronald Koeman's side, who will now face England in the semi-finals in Dortmund on Wednesday.
