The Office US fans, we have bad news – Dunder Mifflin Paper Company's doors will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

It's been seven years since the sitcom came to an end, but the thirst for a potential reboot or revival only seems to be growing amongst fans.

With NBC's streaming service Peacock getting ready to show all nine seasons of the sitcom from next year, the network's president of original content Bill McGoldrick spoke to Deadline about the ongoing reboot rumours.

"Because it does not launch until January, we have not talked specifically about The Office reboots for Peacock" he explained. "We've talked about things we can do to support The Office once it gets to our service, but a reboot has not come up specifically for Peacock."

Asked about whether an Office reunion special could be on the cards, like the ones recently produced by 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation, McGoldrick confirmed: "Lots of those ideas have been bandied about with people internally and with [showrunner] Greg Daniels and people associated with the show.

"As you can imagine, there are lots of creative ideas, we haven't landed at any one right now."

Earlier this year, Daniels himself spoke about a possible reboot of the show, admitting that it would be difficult to get all of the cast members back together.

The entire series boxset of The Office US is available on DVD now.
