ActionNetwork.com did a study of all the NHL arenas and where they rank in terms of being affordable in the 2023-24 season. According to their study, they used the following as factors:

  • Cost of Four General Tickets

  • Cost of Two Beers and Soft Drinks

  • Cost of Four Hot Dogs and Parking

  • Child Admission Policy

  • Total Cost

  • Comparison to Average

"All prices were scraped from Team Marketing Report’s 2023-24 NHL Fan Cost Index", per the website.

According to the report, Nationwide Arena ranks as the 5th most affordable arena to visit for an NHL game.

Per the website:

5. Nationwide Arena – Columbus Blue Jackets

  • Total Cost: $326.82

  • % Below Average: -24.35%

  • 4 Tickets - $252.92

  • 2 Beers - $21

  • 2 Soft Drinks - $14

  • 4 Hot Dogs - $26

  • Parking - $11.90

  • Child Admission Policy - Under 2 is free

Rounding out the top five cheapest stadiums is Nationwide Arena. With a total cost of $326.82, Blue Jackets fans can take their families with them for $105 less than the average NHL fan.

The rest of the top 5 is as follows:

  1. Mullett Arena – Arizona Coyotes (obviously this will be different with them moving to Utah) - Total Cost: $285.36

  2. Amerant Bank Arena – Florida Panthers - Total Cost: $298.91

  3. Canadian Tire Centre – Ottawa Senators - Total Cost: $306.88 (CA$423.26)

  4. KeyBank Center – Buffalo Sabres - Total Cost: $308.58

The most expensive NHL arenas to visit are Scotiabank Arena, T-Mobile Arena, Madison Square Garden, Bridgestone Arena, and TD Garden in that order.

Having such an affordable arena has its pitfalls. Fans from all over the league tend to invade NWA regularly. Teams like Pittsburgh, Detroit, Toronto, and Buffalo always seem to have thousands of their fans show up. Even Washington and Philadelphia have loads of fans who randomly show up in Columbus.

The Jackets won't complain though, for as long as ticket sales continue to boom, they'll be happy.
