Nate Diaz Breaks Silence: He's Just Trying to Get Paid for Conor McGregor Rematch

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor posted a tweet about retirement on Tuesday, and it nearly brought the internet crashing to a halt.

“I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya's later,” he tweeted.

Of course, the mixed martial arts world immediately began swirling around his comment, wondering if it was a true statement, a hoax, a negotiating ploy, or something else. As of the time of publishing this article, we still don't know what McGregor's tweet truly means.

But that hasn't stopped others from jumping in the mix.

McGregor is supposed to fight Nate Diaz in a welterweight rematch in the UFC 200 headliner on July 9 in Las Vegas. So Diaz decided to chime in on Twitter as well, saying, “I guess my work here is done. I'm retiring too.”

While we don't know what McGregor is currently thinking, Diaz's tweet is surely in jest, responding to what many believe is a massive troll job by McGregor.
