Nashville Predators Sign 2024 Third-Round Pick Hiroki Gojsic
It did not take long for the Nashville Predators' third-round pick from the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, Hiroki Gojsic, to make a name for himself.
Gojsic impressed in the rookie camp and carried that over to the start of training camp. After his first pre-season game for the Predators, Barry Trotz announced that the Predators have signed him to a three-year entry-level deal.
The 18-year-old made the jump to the WHL from the BCHL and was solid as a rookie. He produced 21 goals and 50 points in 68 games. He finished fifth on the Kelowna Rockets in scoring during the regular season and also recorded five assists in 11 games in the playoffs.
Gojsic had the eighth most points in the WHL among rookies and recorded 12 multi-point games over the course of his first season in the league.
The 6'3, 207 forward is the first of eight players the Predators selected in the 2024 draft to sign an entry-level deal. It is a good sign that he is already exceeding expectations of where he was drafted.
Gojsic will head back to the WHL to play at least another season, but his size and skill can make for an interesting development. He was impressive in the Rookie Showcase and in his first pre-season. We will see how things play out from here.
