Nashville Predators Recall Vinnie Hinostroza from AHL Milwaukee

The Nashville Predators recalled forward Vinnie Hinostroza from the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals Saturday.

Nashville signed the 30-year-old to a two-year, two-way contract this past offseason worth $775,000 at the NHL level. This marks his first call-up to the Predators since joining the organization.

A sixth-round pick (No. 169 overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2012 NHL Draft, Hinostroza is a veteran of 374 career NHL games since debuting with the Blackhawks in 2015-16. He has 151 career points (54 goals, 97 assists) across parts of 10 NHL seasons with the Blackhawks, Arizona Coyotes, Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Hinostroza's most recent NHL appearance came last season with Pittsburgh, where he had three points (1 goal, 2 assists) in 14 games. His best NHL season came with Arizona in 2018-19, when he recorded 39 points (16 goals, 23 assists) in 72 games.

The Predators have iced 11 forwards and seven defensemen in two straight games since Cole Smith landed on IR with a lower-body injury, so Hinostroza will provide the team with some more forward depth for the time being.

Hinostroza joined the team for Saturday's practice in Nashville, where they returned briefly after Friday's 7-4 loss to the St. Louis Blues before embarking on the remainder of their six-game road trip. Their next game is against the Winnipeg Jets Monday at 6:30 p.m. CT at Canada Life Centre.
