Nashville Predators Recall Kevin Gravel from AHL Milwaukee After Roman Josi Injury
According to the AHL transactions page, the Nashville Predators have recalled defenseman Kevin Gravel from the Milwaukee Admirals ahead of Thursday's game against the Dallas Stars.
The move comes in the wake of Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Calgary Flames, when Predators captain Roman Josi left after the first period with an injury and did not return. The Predators are also without two of their regular starting defensemen in Jeremy Lauzon, who is on Injured Reserve with a lower-body injury, and Alexandre Carrier, who left Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators with an upper-body injury and is now considered week-to-week.
Gravel, a team captain in Milwaukee, has five points (1 goal, 4 assists) through 20 games for the Admirals this season, with his lone goal coming on the power play. It's possible that he may slot in on Nashville's second power play unit if Brady Skjei is elevated to take Josi's spot on the first unit.
The Predators and Stars are set to face off Thursday at 7 p.m. CT at American Airlines Center in Dallas.
