Napoli find Garnacho alternative in Anderlecht talent Amuzu
Reports are growing rapidly that Napoli will secure a deal for RSC Anderlecht winger Francis Amuzu, as Alejandro Garnacho remains too expensive.
The Partenopei have been scrambling to find a replacement ever since selling Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window.
Their primary target was Garnacho, but the Manchester United asking price of €80m has been considered excessive to the point of being ridiculous, with the offer no higher than €55m.
There was also an approach for Karim Adeyemi, but he does not want to leave Borussia Dortmund mid-season.
Napoli turn away from Garnacho to Amuzu
Now Fabrizio Romano and Belgian transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri confirm Napoli are stepping up negotiations for a cheaper alternative.
They are in talks for Amuzu and RSC Anderlecht are prepared to sell for considerably less than the Garnacho asking price.
The 25-year-old can play on the right or left, his contract with Anderlecht only runs to June 30, although the club does have an option to extend by one more year.
He contributed four goals and three assists in 27 competitive games this season.
Napoli only have one game a week after exiting the Coppa Italia and failing to qualify for Europe, so already have Kvaratskhelia’s replacement in house with David Neres.
