Serie A and Italian football pay tribute to former Azzurri striker Schillaci this weekend as the 1990 World Cup top scorer died from colon cancer at 59 this week.
A former Juventus and Inter striker, Schillaci became a hearo for the whole country at Italia 90, scoring six goals in seven appearances in a tournament that saw Italy finish third.
Napoli fans also held a banner that read ‘shame’, referring to the Turin Prosecutor’s decision to ban fans from Naples and its province from attending the game.
The decision was announced less than 24 hours from kick-off and with over 2,300 Napoli expected in Turin.
Circa 1,000 Napoli fans are in the away sector today, but they all come from outside Napoli and its province.
