Napoli Coach Looks Back On Inter Milan & Juventus Spells: ‘We Wrote History Together’

Napoli coach Antonio Conte feels that he “wrote history” in his time in charge of both Inter Milan and Juventus.

Conte spoke about his spells with the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri in an interview on Napoli’s social media account, via FCInterNews.

This summer, Conte made the move to Napoli.

The 55-year-old certainly arrives in Naples with a big reputation.

Conte has won league titles in both Italy and England, with two different teams. He has won three Serie A titles with Juventus, the Premier League with Chelsea, and then Serie A again with Inter.

However, Conte has not managed to win a major trophy since departing from the Nerazzurri in 2021.

It was a stormy exit from the club for Conte. That had also been the case when he left both Chelsea and Juventus.

And in his last spell at a club, Conte was at Tottenham Hotspur. His time with the London club had its ups and downs, but ultimately ended under a dark cloud.

Napoli Coach Conte: “We Wrote History” At Inter & Juventus

Conte’s first match as Napoli coach was a disaster, as the Partenopei fell to a shock opening day defeat against Hellas Verona.

But since then, the team have recovered.

Napoli secured a convincing win over Bologna.

And then there was a dramatic late comeback against Parma before the international break.

Meanwhile, tomorrow Napoli travel to Cagliari. Conte will hope that the team can continue their winning run.

The 55-year-old mused that “History is important in general.”

“Sometimes there’s a bit of dust on it,” he continued. “But if you clean it off, history emerges and it can give you a big hand.”

“I had the pleasure of working with two young Presidents,” Conte continued. “Agnelli and Zhang,” he named the former Juventus and Inter Presidents.

“Before I came along, they’d never won trophies.”

“We wrote history together,” Conte summarized his successful stints in charge of the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri.

“De Laurentiis, on the other hand, already has a league title,” Conte noted of Napoli’s President.
