With the arrival of Randal Kolo Muani and a contract that expires in June 2026, more questions are being asked of whether Juventus could sell Dusan Vlahovic now to save €31m.

The striker had been carrying the goals load almost single-handed so far this season and it was taking a toll both on his form and the team, so Kolo Muani was brought in on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

The France international is expected to make his debut from the start against Napoli this evening and Italian media insist it is only the precursor to a Vlahovic exit.

That might even happen sooner rather than later, as Calciomercato.com calculated how much Juventus would need to sell the Serbian to not make a net loss on his €85.35m purchase from Fiorentina in January 2022.

Why selling Vlahovic saves Juventus money

Including amortisation, the sale in June 2025 would need to be at least €20m, although that is considerably less than the €30m it represented only six months ago.

The main problem for Vlahovic’s future is his salary, which will hit €12m net in the 2025-26 season, which is €22.2m gross for the club to pay.

The contract only runs to June 2026 and Juve are very hesitant to agree a new one, knowing they’d have to keep that remarkable wage going.

His current salary for the 2024-25 campaign is €10.5m net, circa €18m gross.

It means selling Vlahovic in January 2025 would save Juventus around €31m in wages alone.

Of the clubs who could potentially cover such a salary, the most likely contenders are Arsenal, although their first choice is Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig.
