Make the most of your matchday at Etihad Stadium

Brentford take on Manchester City on Saturday 14 September (3pm kick-off).

The match will not be broadcast live in the UK.

Etihad Stadium is well connected by public transport routes or is a 25-minute walk from the city centre. If you are heading to the match, here’s some useful information on getting to the ground and tips to make the most of your trip to Manchester.

Transport

Save money on your journey to Manchester with Trainline

We’ve partnered with Trainline to give you discounted rail travel on matchday.

Trainline want to make it even easier to travel green. As part of their I Came By Train campaign to help fight climate change, you can save 20 per cent on your journey when you book in advance with Trainline.

After you purchase your match ticket, you will be sent an email with your unique discount code within one working day. Each ticket holder will receive an email with their unique discount code. You can redeem your discount code when purchasing your rail ticket.

Travelling by train

Direct trains will run from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly every 30 minutes on the morning of the match.

The last direct train back to London on matchday is at 8.15pm. Return tickets to London are likely to sell out. We recommend you use Trainline to book your ticket as soon as possible.

A fast and frequent Metrolink tram service runs straight to the stadium’s dedicated tram stop, Etihad Campus.

Look for the Ashton-Eccles line when arriving at Manchester Piccadilly or Manchester Victoria and the tram will take you within two minutes walks of the stadium.

After the match, busy crowds can cause queues for tram or bus services to the city centre. You can walk to the city centre in approximately 25 minutes.

Local buses to the ground

There are multiple services from Manchester City Centre bus stop that will take supporters to the Etihad. Services 216, 230 and 231 will take you to within a two-minute walk to the stadium.

Travelling by car

We recommend that if you’re travelling by car, you look at this map of parking options in the city centre, or take advantage of the Park and Ride sites that can take you to the stadium.

A strictly enforced resident parking scheme is in place in the streets around Etihad Campus. Parking will not be available in this area.

Ticketing information

For any matchday ticket enquiries, the ticket office is located in at the south stand ticket office and will be open two hours before kick-off.

Any duplicate ticket requests must be sent to Manchester City by the Brentford box office. Please contact Brentford's box office with any inquiries ahead of the matchday.

If you’re collecting your ticket at the Etihad, please remember to bring ID.

Meet, eat and drink before the match

There are many options for food and drink in the city centre and plenty of places to meet other Brentford fans before you head to the stadium. Piccadilly Tavern near Manchester Piccadilly station welcomes away fans.

There are no designated away pubs in the vicinity of the Etihad.

Entering the ground

The away fan entrance is located in the south stand at turnstiles L1, L2 and L3. Turnstiles open two hours before kick-off.

Concessions on the concourse will be open until the end of half-time. The Etihad is a cashless venue. Hot and cold food and beverages are available, with halal and vegan options.

All bags will be searched on entry. Small, handheld bags, no larger than A4 size will be permitted. Larger items such as backpacks, rucksacks and holdalls will not be allowed into the stadium and if you must bring a bag that exceeds these limits then you will be required to use the bag drop facilities around the stadium, at the cost of £10 per item.

Accessibility

The Etihad has nine wheelchair spaces with adjacent seats for personal assistants.

There is an allocation of blue badge parking for away fans at the visiting fans’ coach park.

Staying the night in Manchester? The city is renowned for its nightlife with many restaurants, bars and pubs with live music.

For budget hotels, Premier Inn, Holiday Inn, Travelodge and Ibis each have multiple sites in Manchester city centre.
