Chiras, 17, has 17 points (4+13) across 33 games with the South Kent Prep School of the US 18U AAA circuit. He joins Blainville's Rafael Cloutier as the second player from that team to sign to the QMJHL today.
The 6-foot-1 pointman has no NCAA affiliation as of yet, and is eligible for the 2025 NHL draft.
In a subsequent move, the Mooseheads have dropped blueliner Dominic MacKenzie.
MacKenzie, 18, had two points (0+2) across 22 games with the Mooseheads this season. He's been assigned to the Maritime Junior Hockey League's Pictou County Crushers, however the Mooseheads have retained his rights.
