Monza are bottom of the Serie A table, but are reportedly set to sign both Tomas Palacios from Inter and Milan striker Luka Jovic.

The club run by former Milan CEO Adriano Galliani and brought to the top flight by Silvio Berlusconi from Serie C is struggling to hold on to its position even after sacking coach Alessandro Nesta.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter have agreed terms to loan defender Palacios to Monza, with the minnows covering his salary for the next six months.

There had been some doubt that the move would go through because he also received interest from Bayer Leverkusen.

However, now the medical has been set for either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Monza must convince both Jovic and Palacios

That is not all, as Monza are also close to convincing Jovic to leave Milan on loan until his contract runs out on June 30.

Calciomercato.com report that Milan must first give the Serbian striker a bonus in return for the fact his clause to extend for 2025-26 will not be activated.

It is a remarkable career trajectory for the 27-year-old, who Real Madrid paid €63m to purchase from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2019.

Since then, he had spells at Fiorentina and Milan, both practically for free to take on his huge salary, barely making an impact.

Jovic made just five Serie A appearances this season for a total 101 minutes of football.
