A member of a gym in Montreal, Quebec has been banned from the facility after an altercation with a 19-year-old weightlifter has gone viral.

Charles Lalonde’s workout was being recorded on video when the incident occurred. In the video below, a visibly agitated member of the gym can be seen approaching Lalonde before kicking the barbell out of his hands and shoving Lalonde against the wall while yelling at him to “get out.” The video has more than two-million views since it was uploaded to YouTube on August 2, 2018.

Craig Johnson, head of operations at Buzzfit gyms, told the Montreal Gazette a staff member has also been suspended in connection with the incident. The assailant was not well known to the gym, according to Johnson, who says the staff “had to go through video footage” in order to identify him.

Pete Rubish, a personal trainer working with Lalonde, uploaded the video on his YouTube channel. Rubish mentions in the video’s description that the gym’s staff had given his client a hard time with making too much noise while deadlifting in the gym, asking him to place mats underneath the plates. Lalonde had reportedly done just that before a random bystander, who is not part of the staff, confronted Lalonde.

Buzzfit has reportedly reached out to Lalonde with the intention of offering him and his family a lifetime membership, but the gym has not been able to get in contact. Rubish adds in his video’s description that Lalonde is grateful for the support and plans to press charges against his assailant.
