Montreal Canadiens Trade Jacob Perreault To Edmonton Oilers For Noel Hoefenmayer
The Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers have completed an interesting AHL trade, with forward Jacob Perreault going to the Oilers organization in exchange for defenseman Noel Hoefenmayer.
Perreault has had offensive success in the AHL in the past but has struggled to produce this season. He picked up five points in five games with the ECHL's Trois-Rivieres Lions and is pointless in six games with the Laval Rocket.
The Montreal, Que., native was traded from the Anaheim Ducks to Montreal in March in exchange for Jan Mysak. He is in the final year of a three-year deal that pays him $863,334 annually, he will be a RFA at season's end.
The 27th overall selection in the 2020 draft, Perreault has 93 points in 180 career AHL games.
Hoefenmayer has one goal and seven points in 11 games for the Bakersfield Condors this season. He will bring offense and experience to an already strong Laval blueline.
The 25-year-old is signed to a one-year contract that pays him $775,000, he is a RFA at the end of the season.
A native of North York, Ont., Hoefenmayer has 72 points in 149 career AHL games.
The Canadiens have acquired defenseman Noel Hoefenmayer from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Jacob Perreault.
