Montreal Canadiens Loan Jayden Struble To Laval
The Montreal Canadiens have assigned defenseman Jayden Struble to the Laval Rocket for a conditioning assignment, it was announced Friday.
Struble, who last appeared in a game for the Habs on Jan. 10, has appeared in 26 games for Montreal this season where he has collected two goals and three assists for five points.
Drafted by the Canadiens in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Struble turned pro at the end of the 2022-23 season after four years at Northeastern (NCAA). Since then, he has played in 82 career NHL regular season games, accumulating 15 points.
With Struble being sent down for conditioning, he should soon be recalled to the NHL. As a physical, puck moving defender, Struble has shown he can hang at the NHL level and bolsters the Habs' depth when he is healthy.
