Montpellier pushing Téji Savanier to leave in January
According to Foot Mercato, Montpellier are pushing Téji Savanier (33) to leave the Ligue 1 club during the winter transfer window. The Montpellier-born midfielder is not against the possibility of a new challenge before the transfer window closes.
In a surprising move, La Paillade are looking to force out their club captain before the transfer window closes. The 33-year-old is attracting interest from clubs in the MLS and the United Arab Emirates but no official offers have arrived for the Frenchman as of yet. Savanier is open to offers and waiting to see which clubs may come in for him.
The midfielder has previously held discussions with Aris Salonika. Despite talks being held with the Greek club, no formal offer was ever submitted to the Montpellier midfielder. Leaving his boyhood club is not Savanier’s absolute priority, but he will listen to offers given the Hérault club’s willingness to see him leave.
