Montpellier manager Jean-Louis Gasset today revealed in his pre-match press conference that MHSC are looking to sign former striker Andy Delort (33), who currently plays for Algerian side Mouloudia Club d’Alger. Foot Mercato previously reported that Delort was keen to leave his club in Algeria whom he joined last summer, and wants to rejoin his former club Montpellier. Yet there are still reportedly hurdles for the move, with discussions currently at a standstill over the terms of a loan move. MHSC want a free loan, but Mouloudia Club d’Alger don’t accept the terms proposed by the club who currently sit bottom of Ligue 1.

“He’s on the list of 4 or 5 players we’ve targeted with the recruitment team,” revealed Gasset today in his pre-match press conference before Montpellier face Toulouse away from home on Sunday afternoon (178:15 CET). “We need to find a suitable player straight away, because he has to be ready, he has to be good, and he has to be cheap.”

“There are profiles and players we’ve called to sound them out and see if they’re interested. Sometimes there are boxes that aren’t filled because the player lacks playing time and is physically empty, but we only have 5 months to succeed, and then we have to make arrangements with the other club.”
