Monday Night Football betting: Bills, Bengals are big public favorites in anticipation of a dull doubleheader
Even in a week the NFL has two Monday Night Football games, they may not have a good one.
In the first kickoff of the night, the Buffalo Bills host the Jacksonville Jaguars as 5.5-point favorites. Then, less than an hour later, the Cincinnati Bengals get started at home against the Washington Commanders as 7.5-point favorites.
Though the underdogs could always play above their heads and give us better games than the spreads suggest, bettors aren't counting on it. At BetMGM, 67% of tickets on the Bills-Jaguars spread and 61% of the money is going towards Buffalo. The splits are similar for Commanders-Bengals, with Cincinnati drawing 59% of tickets and 70% of the money.
Bettors do at least expect to see some points in the first game. At a total of 45.5 points, 55% of bets and 75% of handle is on the over. The favorites are obviously expected to account for the bulk of that, with Bills players being four of the top five most-bet anytime touchdown props.
James Cook leads the way at +115, followed by Josh Allen (-120) and Jacksonville's Travis Etienne (+100), then Dalton Kincaid (+230) and Khalil Shakir (+240).

As for the late game, 72% of bets and 68% of handle on the total have the game falling under 47 points. Bettors don't expect that to be for a lack of effort on Ja'Marr Chase's part.
The Bengals receiver is the most-bet player to score a touchdown at +110, and the over on his 80.5 receiving yards line is the most popular prop of the game.
