According to Foot Mercato, Monaco midfielder Mohamed Camara (24) is one step away from joining Qatari club Al-Sadd. The Malian midfielder is set to leave the Stade-Louis II on a permanent transfer just 2 seasons after joining the Ligue 1 club.

Camara cost Les Monégasques a fee in the region of €15m when he joined from RB Leipzig in 2022 and has failed to stamp his mark in midfield since he arrived at the Principality club. Foot Mercato understands that Monaco head coach Adi Hütter does not see the Malian international as part of his plans.

Replacement ready?

With potentially significant movement in the midfield at the Côte d’Azur club, as Camara and Youssouf Fofana both look set to leave the club, the Ligue 1 outfit are considering potential reinforcements. Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumaré is one of the potential names being considered after a move for Lens’ Neil El Aynaoui collapsed.
