AS Monaco’s Aleksandr Golovin nearing return
Aleksandr Golovin (28) is yet to feature for AS Monaco this season after suffering a sprained ankle earlier this month, however, he is now nearing a return.
The Russian playmaker suffered a sprain to his right ankle, which saw him miss pre-season friendlies against Genoa and Barcelona, as well as the first two matches of the Ligue 1 season. Last week, manager Adi Hütter revealed that Golovin was around 10 days away from a return to action, however, less than a week later, the midfielder has been pictured back in first-team training.

His return, ahead of schedule, offers hope that he may be available to take some part in Sunday’s encounter at the Stade Louis II, against RC Lens as they look to extend their winning run at the start of the campaign. Given that he is training without any discomfort, there is increasing optimism that he will at least be in the matchday squad.
